RSE Planning

We use the Christopher Winter Project planning which is aligned to the RSHE statutory guidance released in September 2020. These plans are integrated into the PSHE programme of study.

Please do look at the Teacher Guide which gives a curriculum overview and sets out how these plans are mapped to the Statutory Guidance.

Whilst sex education is not compulsory in primary schools, it is recommended that schools have a programme which is tailored to the age and the physical and emotional maturity of their pupils. It should ensure that boy and girls are prepared for the changes that adolescence brings and - drawing on knowledge of the human life cycle set out in the national curriculum for science - how a baby is conceived and born.
