Our Church School
At Frittenden Church of England Primary School, our small size is one of our greatest strengths. It allows all staff to know the children exceptionally well, building strong and lasting relationships. Many pupils remain with the same teacher for more than one academic year or may be taught by them again later in their school journey. This continuity enables teachers to develop a deep understanding of each child’s learning journey and personal development over time.
As a Church of England school, our mission is clear: “Shepherding our school community to enrich God’s world and flourish.” Rooted in John 10, the story of the Good Shepherd shapes our identity and values. Like Jesus, the Good Shepherd, we are a nurturing and inclusive family where each child is known, loved, and guided on their unique path. We are committed to developing the whole child—academically, personally, socially, and spiritually—so that every pupil can thrive and live life to the full (John 10:10). Our core values of compassion, joy, and respect reflect Jesus’ love for his flock. They guide the way we care for one another, celebrate individuality, and serve our community and the wider world.
We are proud of our stable and experienced teaching and support team. Our staff are a real strength of the school: they consistently go above and beyond to ensure that every child receives the highest quality of education and pastoral care. Their dedication and professionalism help to create a nurturing, aspirational environment where all children feel valued and can succeed.
Our curriculum is broad, balanced, and ambitious. It is carefully sequenced and underpinned by a clear progression of knowledge and skills. Designed to inspire curiosity and deepen understanding, it equips children with the tools they need to flourish both in and beyond the classroom. As children move through the school, their learning builds securely on what has come before, making it meaningful and memorable.
Children are grouped flexibly throughout the day to best meet their learning needs, whether by ability, interest, or specific focus. Teachers use regular assessments and data analysis to identify pupils who would benefit from additional support or extra challenge. Through high-quality, adaptive teaching, staff respond to the diverse needs of learners, ensuring that every child is supported to make progress and achieve their potential across the curriculum.
Frittenden is a well-resourced school, offering a range of high-quality learning spaces. These include four classrooms, a sensory room, a nurture space to support emotional wellbeing, and several additional breakout areas. We are also fortunate to have a beautiful library with panoramic views of the church and village—a peaceful and inspiring place that fosters a love of reading at the heart of our school.
Best wishes
