Partners for success

Partners for Success: Working with Parents

We firmly believe in the invaluable partnership between school and parents for the holistic development of our children. Guided by our mission of shepherding our school community to enrich God's world and flourish, we strive to create an environment where every child is supported to grow in both knowledge and character. Our open door policy ensures that parents are always welcome to discuss any concerns or ideas, fostering a supportive and collaborative relationship. We offer pastoral support to families, recognizing that a child's wellbeing is foundational to their academic success. Parent sessions on speech and language, wellbeing practices, as well as phonics and mathematic approaches, empower parents to actively engage in their child's learning journey. Regular events like parent evenings, Open Classroom sessions held termly, and celebration services throughout the year provide further opportunities for parents to witness and celebrate their child's progress. Together, we work in unity to nurture a thriving community where each child can flourish, enriching God's world through their unique gifts and abilities.

Volunteering

The partnership between school, home, and our local community is essential in providing the best education for our children. Parents, family members, and local community members are all encouraged to get involved, offering their valuable skills to support reading, craft sessions, or school trips. To ensure the safety of all, all volunteers are required to complete a DBS check before coming into school. If you're interested in volunteering, please speak with your child's class teacher.

Class Assemblies

Parents are invited to class assemblies, of which, two will be held every academic year for each class.

Open Classroom

We are excited to invite parents to our Open Classroom sessions, where you will have the opportunity to explore your child's learning journey first-hand. During these sessions, you can look through your child's books, see the progress they've made, and engage in conversations about what they're learning. This is a great chance to celebrate their achievements, ask questions, and gain insight into their classroom experience. We encourage you to take this opportunity to connect with your child about their learning and share in their excitement about the topics they are exploring.

Parent Workshops and Forums

We are pleased to offer a series of parent workshops designed to support your child's learning and development. These workshops focus on key areas such as phonics, maths, speech, language, and communication, as well as children's wellbeing. Led by specialists, these sessions will provide valuable insights and practical strategies to help you support your child at home. Whether you're looking to strengthen phonics skills, enhance your child's mathematical understanding, or better support their speech and wellbeing, these workshops will equip you with the tools to make a positive impact on your child's progress and growth. We encourage all parents to attend and take advantage of these helpful resources.
