Our Vision and Values

Our Visions

At our small, rural school each individual child (and adult) is known, loved and nurtured in our inclusive family. We value and respect each member of our school community equally. Our enriching curriculum develops the whole child to find joy in the world that we live in. As a flock, we seek to shepherd each other and God’s world by being compassionate, responsible and outward looking just like Jesus the Good Shepherd.

Our vision and values are theologically rooted in ‘The Good Shepherd’ John 10:1-18

The story of the Good Shepherd and his sheep wonderfully represents our school. In John 10, Jesus presents himself as the Good Shepherd. Jesus assures his followers that they are his beloved sheep and that he knows and cares for each one of his precious flock. He will guide, protect and keep his sheep safe.

  • Jesus showed how he kept his flock safe from harm. We nurture all members of our school community to be the best version of themselves so that they thrive, flourish and blossom as a result of good mental health and wellbeing in a fellowship of love with God.
  • Jesus dedicated himself to his flock, without exception. Everyone is welcome in our Frittenden family, we are fully inclusive without compromise; we welcome all and strive continuously to meet individual needs, supported by excellent role models, who have high aspirations for all, driven by gospel values.
  • ‘I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full’ John 10:10. Jesus wanted his sheep to live life to the full. At our school, each child will travel on their own learning journey pathway to achieve their full God given potential academically, socially, personally and spiritually. We have high expectations for all children and promote good mental health and well-being and positive relationships for all.

Our mission:

Shepherding our school community to enrich God’s world and flourish.

Our Values:

John 10:16. I have other sheep that are not in this flock here. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

This verse shows inclusivity and respect for all people regardless of background.

John 10: 10. A thief comes to steal and kill and destroy. But I came to give life – life in all its fullness

This verse speaks of the joy, abundant life Jesus wants for His followers – life lived fully in relationship with him and eternally with him.

John 10:14-15. I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me – just as the Father knows me and I know the Father – I give my life for the sheep.

This verse demonstrates that Jesus knows each of his followers personally, reflecting a compassionate and intimate relationship.
