In Potter Class we appreciate that many learning opportunities happen at home as well as in school and we encourage the children to celebrate these too.
Through our see saw online journal we encourage parents to share special moments and learning that has taken place at home. This may be your child fastening their coat for the first time, spotting a number in the environment or reading a word for the first time. We celebrate these moments in the class through discussion and our proud wall display.
In addition to these special moments we also send home a range of home learning. Each week the children will receive a reading book and home learning game with a particular focus such as phonics or fine motor. Home learning packs have also been created for each child which are kept at home. These contain a range of open ended, practical activities including numicon, sound cards, number cards and letter sheets.
During the summer term we increase the hone learning tasks and provide home learning books in order to prepare the children for year 1.
